PosterBell

For scientific conferences

The doorbell for your
conference poster.

You are in the hallway talk of the century — and someone is standing in front of your poster. With PosterBell they can ring you, download the PDF, or leave a message. You answer with one tap, from anywhere.

No visitor accounts · No trackers · GDPR-aware · Runs on your own server

How it works

  1. Put a QR code on your poster

Create your poster in a minute, print the unique QR code, and stick it next to your poster. That is the whole setup.

  2. Visitors ring when you are away

One tap on their phone. No account, no app, no form. They can also grab your PDF or leave a message with their contact.

  3. You answer with one tap

A Telegram or e-mail arrives with ready-made replies — “On my way”, “5 min”, “15 min”, or “leave contact”. The visitor sees your status live.

Built around the moment you are away

Most poster time is spent away from the poster. PosterBell covers that gap — for both sides.

For presenters

  • Instant alerts — Telegram + e-mail with one-tap replies
  • Full log — every ring and message in your dashboard
  • PDF always on tap — even while you are in another session
  • Your server, your data — self-hosted, no third parties

For visitors

  • Ring the author — and watch the status update live
  • Grab the poster — download the PDF any time
  • Leave a question — with contact details, if you want an answer
  • Zero friction — no account, no app, works in a slow Wi-Fi

Frequently asked questions

Do visitors need an account or an app?

No. Visitors scan the QR code on your poster and get a lightweight page on their phone: ring for the author, download the poster PDF, or leave a message. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

How do I get notified when someone rings?

Instantly, by Telegram and/or e-mail. Telegram notifications include one-tap reply buttons: “On my way”, “5 min”, “15 min”, or “Leave contact”. The visitor sees your answer live on their phone.

Will it work on poor conference Wi-Fi?

Yes. The visitor page is a single tiny document — no frameworks, no trackers, no persistent connections. Status updates use simple polling, which is the most robust option for crowded event networks.

What about GDPR and my data?

PosterBell runs on your own server. It stores only what the service needs, uses no analytics or ad networks, and deletes visitor rings and messages automatically after a 30-day retention period.
